Bedford Hills Lions St. Patricks Day Parade

We invite our local Lions to come together on March 11th.

Event:    St. Patricks Day Parade
Where:   Mt. Kisco, New York (Moore Avenue)
Date:     Saturday, March 11, 2017
Time:     1:15pm (Parade Step-off 2:00pm)

Through the cooperation of the Ancient Order of Hibernians (AOH/Division 16/Mt. Kisco), Mt. Kisco & Bedford Hills Lions Club we’d like to invite our fellow Lions Club members from Armonk, Bedford Village & Pound Ridge Lions Clubs to march together as one group.

This is always a great big parade with a fantastic turnout of not only parade participants, but also spectators. What better way to shine a spotlight on Lions but to come together and show that Lions pride and community spirit.

At the parade our Clubs may even foster interested folks who share our kindred spirit for community service by expressing interest in joining individual clubs.

We’re planning on making this a great online social event as well by also “live feeding” during the parade on facebook, twitter and/or instagram. Don’t worry we’ll let you know the #hashtag as well.

After the parade we may even get together at a local tavern for some munchies and quick refreshments. Those plans are still pending.

Meanwhile, please present these plans to your club board and/or membership. We’d like to have an accurate account of the Clubs and approximate number of each club participants coming so we can inform the parade committee and get it on their website and parade program. Usually the program is available on the AOH website days before the parade.

Please RSVP no later than Thursday, March 2, 2017 to:

Bob Collins
Working together enables Lions, our Clubs & District to succeed!

Join The Somers Leo’s Club

The Somers LEOs Club is a youth (9th– 12th grade) organization of Lions Clubs International and sponsored by the Somers Lions Club.  We are excited to have one of the largest and most active LEOs Clubs in NY State with over 200 members who perform in excess of 3,400 hours of volunteer service each year.  We encourage our members to explore their Leadership traits by obtaining Experience through the Opportunity of participating in local community service projects.  They are often working, side by side, with Somers Lions and Community leaders who offer mentorship, guidance and a laugh while working to improve the lives of many in our community.

LEO Club is the largest youth club of a voluntary character in the world, present in 140 countries with over 160,000 members. LEO Club members are addressed as “LEOs.” The word “Leo” stands for Leadership, Experience, Opportunity.  LEOs conduct various projects in a wide-scope of fields such as health care, elder assistance/service, child care, special needs initiatives, literacy and education, and self-development. LEOs raise funds by conducting fund-raising projects and donate back to those in need within our community. They can partner with projects with another LEO club, sponsoring Lions club, or with an outside organization.

Some of our activities encompassed supporting Make-A-Wish, Blythedale Children’s Hospital, Guiding Eyes for the Blind, Friends of Karen, Adopting a Family, PTA, SEF, Special Olympics, SYSO, Independence Day Celebration, Lions Pancake Breakfast, visit to the United Nations to interact with LEOs, Lions and Diplomats from around the world, and some of our LEOs will participate in the USA/Canada LEO Forum over the summer of 2017.

If you are interested in becoming a member, please contact Lion Paul LaSpina or Lion Tracy Reimann.
